Carborundum Printmaking

During my time at Ringling I was introduced to many printmaking processes, one of them being the carborundum process. Carborundum being a paste which is a mixture of sand and glue. It was really fun to work with and it was a bit like painting with sand. Here I continued with the imagery of the student, and here I wanted to explore the loneliness and sadness that can come with being a young student. It is no secret that teen suicide is on the rise in the US, but it has become the leading cause of death amongst students in China, Japan, and South Korea.
